Bon Appétit Neon Sign

Great restaurants aren't remembered for the food alone.

The lighting, interior, music and branding all contribute to how a restaurant feels — and the right neon sign can become one of the most recognisable features in the room.

Turn your restaurant name or logo into a statement behind the bar, illuminate a feature wall or create something completely original around your food, concept or personality.

From neighbourhood restaurants and casual dining to premium venues, neon can help turn a good interior into somewhere customers remember.

Colour has a huge influence on the atmosphere of a restaurant.

Warm White complements timber, exposed brick and warmer dining rooms particularly well, creating a softer glow without overwhelming the interior.

Snow White works beautifully in cleaner contemporary spaces, while Red, Orange, Green, Pink or Blue can create a much stronger statement or reproduce colours already associated with your brand.

For logos and food illustrations, combining several colours can create a much more distinctive design.

The strongest choice isn't necessarily the brightest colour — it's the one that looks like it belongs in the restaurant.

Start by thinking about where customers will see the sign from.

A 60cm sign works brilliantly as a freestanding feature on a host station, bar or counter. Around 80–100cm suits smaller feature walls, booths and individual dining areas.

For restaurant names and main branding, 120–160cm creates considerably more presence behind a bar or across a prominent wall.

Large restaurants and wide feature walls can go even bigger — particularly when the sign needs to remain visually dominant in a busy interior.

Not every neon sign needs to dominate an entire wall.

A sign positioned behind a booth or seating area can create a distinctive part of the restaurant that customers actively want to sit in.

It could be your logo, an illustration, a short phrase or something unique to the history and personality of the venue.

Done well, that one section becomes both a design feature and a natural location for birthdays, group photographs and customer content.

On a busy street, every restaurant is competing for attention.

A neon sign positioned inside your front window can make your restaurant much easier to recognise — particularly during evening service when traditional signage can disappear into the surrounding street.

Use your restaurant name for brand recognition, a food graphic to immediately communicate what you serve, or a simple message such as OPEN when clarity matters most.

A well-positioned window sign lets the atmosphere inside the restaurant spill out onto the street.
