Neon Filter Annual Beach Cleanup 2022

The Neon Filter team hit the beaches around Bognor Regis Friday 22nd for the annual Earth Day beach cleanup. It marked the 2nd year for the event sponsored by Neon Filter. The day was was briefly bathed in bright April sunshine and brisk sea breeze.

Starting from the pier, which was first opened in 1865, this iconic beachfront landmark sees hundreds of thousands of people walk past the victorian structure to admire the beach views and take in the sea air. Waste bags and litter pickers at the ready, what better place to start.

“Just after 12, we split into groups to cover both directions from the pier. It’s been great to get out here and take action,” Neon Filter owner James Harrison said. “We’re had another productive cleanup event.”

According to Statista’s ocean pollution report. An estimated 8 Million tons of plastic enters our oceans every year. There are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic waste estimated to be in our oceans. The cleanup conducted today was a step in the right direction but there is so much more work to be done, which is why Neon Filter support the GreenSeas Trust in their mission to stop plastic entering our seas.
